Poorly done for replacement parts

Spent several hours installing and then removing the problem and trying to diagnose the problem. The lock sounds really cheap when closed but the biggest problem is that it doesn't open when you pull the inside of the handle, I'll definitely be returning that.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Not sure

ALL OTHER FUNCTIONS WORK EXCELLENT. THIS IS AN ANNOYING PROBLEM

THE INTERNAL DOOR OPENING MECHANISM HAS A SMALL DEFECT THAT WILL NOT ALLOW THE DOOR TO OPEN IF THE INTERNAL HANDLE IS PULLED TO THE LIMIT. THE DOOR IS OPEN ONLY TO THE FIRST POSITION OF THE LATCH AND THEN THE DOOR MUST BE CLOSED. ALL OTHER FUNCTIONS WORK EXCELLENT. THIS IS AN ANNOYING PROBLEM.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Long wait

Poor quality product - replacement parts

Very poor quality product. So many other reviews have shown this. I will pay more attention to them in the future. This actuator failed after 1 use. The door still had to be unlocked by hand and I could barely open the door from the outside. I replaced it with an actuator bought from a local parts store and the new one has been working fine for 2 months now. I gave 1 star because it was the lowest you could go.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Expensive

Excellent replacement

Great - no hassles with the replacement and saved a lot of money compared to the original part at the dealer (in this case the part is probably better than the original but time will tell). My only complaint, and it's a small one, is that the yellow clip that holds the stem is slightly larger than the OEM. When sliding this part in my 2009 Suburban the clip will hit the metal of the door and being in two pieces it will fall into the cracks and can be difficult to remove. There is enough space…

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

I like Dorman but this actuator needs some work

I have used Dorman actuators as a spare for a few years, great way to save on this part and not spend a fortune on it issue dealer prices. Not to mention the lifetime guarantee! This particular block appears to be made from higher quality parts than the previous blocks, however there is a loud clicking sound inside the block when the door is opened with the inside handle. Two pulls on the door are also required to open, as the door lock falls back down after the first pull. Everything works…

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not as good as it says

Bad quality good for spare parts

Let me start by saying that this part has endured 2 years of daily driving. The substitution job is not that difficult if you have minimal skills and patience. I replaced all of the actuators in the '08 Suburban and this is the only time I've used this part. Other times I have only used Gruven parts with a drive motor replacement. The gravel part works and is a permanent fix, but requires special skills including welding. I decided to try a complete drive replacement. From day one, this machine

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Very Poor Product in Parts

THIS LAST LAST 3 lock/unlock cycles before internal locking, resulting in door not opening. I had to cut a hole in the door to access the mechanism, remove the screws holding it together and then drill out the rivets holding it together, all with the door closed because there is no way to open the door with it the mechanism failed when closed. Again I had to CUT THE DOOR with a grinding wheel to open the door this product was installed in after 3 lock/unlock cycles. There seems to be a design…

Pros
  • Heavy Duty Construction
Cons
  • Requires Socket

Dorman door lock actuator is not working properly.

I drive a working 2007 GMC Yukon XL and last summer the factory installed door lock failed. Research showed that the dealer would charge a lot of money to replace the lock actuator so I searched Revain and found this product. Since I already had the instructions for installing the lock to hand, I ordered the block and installed it myself. I quickly figured out why it wasn't working properly and tested all of the device's connections, finally notifying Revain, who credited her with promptly…

Pros
  • I'm looking forward to
Cons
  • It's hard to remember but it was

I love the fact that Dorman created an aftermarket.

I love that Dorman makes the door lock after sale but there are a few things to know before you buy. Installation is very easy once you learn how to remove and replace the locks (kudos to YouTube). You will not receive a cable with this purchase, so you will need to use the cable that is currently on your door lock. Again, this is a simple process. All other necessary parts are included and the locks are just as tight as other locks. Disadvantages: 1. With this lock, the door closes much…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Poorly thought out
