My dogs have been eating human food for years. We've had raw, we've cooked, we've switched between the two - we've used JFFD, Darwin's, Home Cooked by Me, Honest Kitchen, etc - interchangeably without a hitch. We have a kennel with 28 dogs with special needs - autoimmune diseases, cancer etc so we never use commercial pet food and use a ketogenic diet for them. This thing ripped my dog's stomach open! And we've been trying for about a month or more. There's a reason you add slippery elm to this

Great for diabetic dogs

I bought this after having a lot of problems controlling diabetes in my recently diabetic dog. I started cooking her food as there is too much junk in the kibble and issues with the sources of the ingredients. Cooking meat and vegetables weekly was becoming unbearable and very time consuming, and I still felt like she was missing important vitamins and minerals that I could easily add to her diet. I had heard of Paradigm so I decided to give it a try, but ordered a trial pack from her website…

Pros
  • Very good value for money

Diabetic control of my two laboratories!

I needed to buy groceries that wouldn't spike my blood sugar. I had a blind dog due to uncontrolled glucose intake and didn't want Bubby to go blind due to diabetes so I looked for a low glycemic index food and found Dr. Harvey's paradigm. My vet wanted me to put my dogs on the Hill Science diet, but the ingredients were corn and cornmeal and then chicken by-products. I told her that corn is high on the glycemic index and that starch is needed to bind that big chunk, giving another boost of…

Be careful with broccoli. This can cause serious gastrointestinal problems.

I have most of the groceries from Dr. Tried Harvey only to find my dog wasn't 100% into it. I really wanted Paradigm because of its low carb and low fat content for my dog who used to have pancreatitis. The Harvey website is full of positive information and positive feedback/stories from customers. But isn't it interesting that you never see negative reviews there? more problems in small. This would cause severe heartburn to the point of suffocation in my dog. I wondered if my dog was allergic…

  • Everything is fine!

Amazing food, dog loves it and the best chemo alternative to starve cancer!

Our hearts sank when we learned that our beloved 8-year-old Golden Retriever had cancer. Our vet noticed a small tumor and removed it in a minor procedure, after which it returned as hemangiosarcoma, a blood cancer. We were offered 2 options. 1) get an ultrasound and see if it has spread and do nothing, or 2) give her chemo. We're not the type to want chemo for ourselves, so I don't want to give our girl that poison either. Fortunately, the results showed that the tumor hadn't spread, but there
