Started out well but after drilling 2 dozen holes it quickly became dull and I didn't hit a single nail. I wanted it to last longer. But sometimes you get what you pay for.

Being made of carbon steel it hasn't withstood prolonged use. I drilled 6 25" holes in standard sized wood before it wore out and could no longer adhere to the wood and work. In addition, the drilled wood is not evacuated up the groove. It only hardens at the tip and stops penetrating. I even took it to someone to have it sharpened and they told me it was too worn to be retuned. I drilled 6 holes and that's it! Those 6 holes only gave me 40% of my project. Bit (DMS73-1060) 18 Ship Auger is good for the price you pay for it but not very high quality. There were chips in the coil from the packaging, nothing that would affect the functionality of the chip ejector, but that doesn't bode well for the quality of the steel, or the manufacturing process, or both. The cutting edge was a bit sharp when given a rough cut (I have high standards here) and will obviously dull with use. But since I didn't want to pay $80-$200 for a good one, this is a good…
