Great time-saving tool for a professional finish

I fell in love with this tool during my sewing training in the innovation workshop at our university and had to have it! I can quickly fold something I'm sewing without having to unbuckle and iron it. This is great for giving your collar, pillow or quilt corners a fresh and professional look.

Pros
  • Got it!
Cons
  • confusing

Use a lot more than I thought

Such a simple tool but very useful. Used it way more than I could imagine. I keep it in my sewing room next to my sewing machine and ironing board. Great help when sewing quilts to keep things in place and bar tacked during sewing and when pressed to keep those seams flat and corners sharp. Because it is made of wood, it can be used for pressing. Anything that needs to be turned inside out and has corners, okay, that's the ticket!

Pros
  • Use the pointed end to guide the fabric as you sew
Cons
  • I'll add later

I used this point and a crease to get nice and square corners after turning them right side out. That works great. The pointed tip felt a bit sharp the first time I used it and I thought it might pierce the fabric so I asked my husband to sand it down a bit with very fine sandpaper. It worked. It's a soft wood, so he sanded it very lightly. I use it all the time now and love it.

Pros
  • Turn the dots on garments and applique.
Cons
  • New competitors have emerged.

Strong, smooth wood, versatile

I bought this tool to extrude corners from the inside of a fabric seam. I have found many other good uses for this single tool in my quilting practice. I use it for finger pressing as the wood is very smooth. I use it to hold the edge of a small block as I sew to the end so it doesn't end up twisting (I'm a beginner). I use it to cover safety pins! After securing the blanket with the exposed pins, simply place the tip of the tool under the exposed straight portion of the pin and lift slightly…

Pros
  • Bamboo approx. 3/4" x 5"
Cons
  • Not as thick as others
