Description of πŸ“Ά Certified Dual-band Wireless DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem/Router Zoom N600 - Comcast & Time Warner Compatible, Model 5360

Combines a 343 Mbps DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem and a Dual Band N600 Wireless Router with 4 GigE LAN ports. Integrating the modem with a router simplifies setup, saves desk space, and reduces cable clutter while eliminating failure-prone wiring connections between separate devices. Certified for own-your-own cable-modem programs by Comcast XFINITY, Time Warner Cable, Bright House, and other cable services. Certified own-your-own cable modems eliminate modem rental charges, which are typically 8 to 10 dollars every month. Built-in high-performance N600 Dual Band WiFi router has dual external antennas and simultaneous radio operation to boost wireless speeds and provide extended wireless range. Wireless features include advanced wireless security, WDS for extending wireless range using repeaters, and WPS for easy wireless security setup. Router features include support for up to 253 client devices, an advanced firewall with parental controls, IPv6 and IPv4 support. The 343 Mbps maximum download speed is up to eight times faster than DOCSIS 2.0 cable modems. The 8X4 cable modem is also faster than 4X4 cable modems, even for service speeds below the top speed of this cable modem. A Full Band Capture Digital Tuner lets cable services deliver faster, more reliable Internet connections. Includes a two-year warranty and technical support from Zoom Telephonics, a Boston-based company founded in 1977.

I would not recommend buying this or any other product Zoom

I purchased this modem in August for Comcast Home Services. Setup and activation was easy. In December I started seeing a blue "DS" blink on intermittent service. Comcast tried troubleshooting and couldn't find the problem. Around the same time, part of the 5 GHz WiFi network disappeared. 2.4 GHz still works, but the connection seems unstable. I've performed a couple of factory resets that didn't fix the problem, and Comcast tried resetting the modem remotely, which didn't help either. I worked

So far I'm impressed.

A model came out a little more boxy and without external antennas. I read a few other reviews online and was a bit worried after placing my order as some of them said they were having trouble setting up the modem with Comcast/Xfinity. In my case it was very simple and registered without any problems. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the firmware that came with it loaded the functions for the router side and provided a great deal of detail for both the modem and the router. Signal…

Like - well done Zoom!

Works very well so far (at least a week). The only catch is that the HP printer (WPS!?) won't connect (still working on it and I think HP is to blame, NOT Zoom). Comcast was easy to set up. The security utilities are advanced and easily adjusted to the level you need. This is an amazingly advanced access point/modem/router that almost anyone can use (yes, you need SOME amount of knowledge to set it up securely and/or correctly). As long as I like it Buy my calculation, it takes about 10 months…

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

it looks cool Works even better!

This is a great option to get your own modem/router and save some money in the future. It's faster than the included rental. I get about 10 Mbit/s additional speed via a direct gigabit connection. The block looks cool. I'm a gamer and it fits perfectly :) The wifi connection speed is about 5Mbps faster than renting. The range is great for my 1 bedroom apartment. Setting up was a breeze. Ignore the negative reviews on this. I have connected all devices. I called the Comcast registrar and it was…
