Good braking performance, value for money

Good braking performance on wet or dry roads. I'm a semi-aggressive rider but by no means a pro and mainly ride trails, not DH. In a muddy start to the season I used polished SRAM center rotors. They don't have a very strong initial bite, but the damping of the brakes is noticeably reduced on long descents. Perfect fit for my calipers. Will update if there are quality issues, but after initial inspection and lapping, they seem to be of good quality. They're a little louder than my old…

Low cost and seems to work well

I've only had 3 rides with it on my rear brake in Durango, Colorado - for reference, down the Skyline, the "Secret Trail" and down the Sick Bird (probably soon RIP at the time of writing, thanks BLM) on Animas Mtn. They don't make any noise like metallics and seem to work just as well as the Shimano G02S pads that have slowly but surely led me to the poorhouse. Of course, with only three rides, I can't speak to durability, but it's unlikely they won't beat Shimano in terms of cost and time…

Multi-metal pads, noisy, do not bite

Multi-metal pads do not work properly in my experience. I've tried two pairs and both work terribly. One of the pairs was definitely contaminated with a broken piston. I cleaned them and the rotor probably 5 times with brake cleaner and couldn't get them to bite. The other couple were put on another bike and were noisy and didn't bite from the start. After a month of using them they never seemed to get any better. I've tried cleaning them with brake cleaner but to no avail. They still make tons

Value! Buy, season, ride (squeak, really)

update, a few rides since first review: ok those solar guns squeak more than usual even when dry. However, if they last 70% longer than Shimano pads, I will most likely buy them again. I have a feeling that the noise audible at moderate deceleration, e.g. when shifting down a hill, can be seen as an advantage to warn others. I'm pretty used to them. First Review: For the price ($10!) I'm very happy with these polymer brake pads. I ride the Spec Stumpjumper 29er on the trails of the Colorado…
