We used them for the first time on our boat trip to Canada. They are fantastic in action and worthwhile due to the greatly improved communication between helmsman and crew. The warning is that you need to charge the batteries every time you use them, even if you've only used them for a short time. They recharge in minutes. Excellent headset. We've just used them for the first time and we really like them. They made mooring our boat much easier and safer. No more screaming to be heard. It appears as if the person speaking to you is standing right next to you. We're not sure about battery life, but plan on removing and charging the batteries after each use. Cheap plastic from China but works well. Not waterproof. It was a deal breaker for me that every time we took the boat out they died before we got home. I made sure we turned them off, but they turned off anyway. I emailed Eartec and they said you should remove the batteries if you won't be using them for a long time. Based on the various reviews I have confidently concluded that they are either excellent or terrible. What mattered to me was that they were the best available.
