worth the extra cost

I've had 3 of these on my faucets and they splash water on you from day one if you turn off the faucet. The old valves had been installed by a contractor in my new house and I was reluctant to replace them until they started leaking when the water was turned on. The ones supplied by the manufacturer were a cheaper version with plastic parts inside, they are all brass. After replacing them with a new ALL brass shut-off valve, I don't get wet when I turn off the water. It still just doesn't get…

Disposable Set Screw

My original vacuum interrupter adapter was fitted by a home builder a few years ago who then quickly broke the set screw to comply with the regulations. This permanently attaches the adapter to the hose bib threads and makes it a real bear to dismount. I was finally able to remove the old switch and fit this device. Seems to be working well after a day of use. Tip: If you intend to remove this valve for service or replacement in the future, immediately discard the loose set screw provided with…

Solid looks. there is noise

I bought one of these along with a competitor's version at half price. This item is slightly larger and has thicker flesh, so it's slightly heavier. Here's a horrible photo, but you can still see that the partition in the middle of the passageway is also brass; The competitor has plastic, so I'm guessing this one will last longer (the third all-plastic version I bought earlier at a local hardware store cracked in this area when I first installed the hose, so that's a viable guess ). I'm using…

The product is perfect, but I hate it

Well, that's what the code requires in many places. The product works great and looks great. The price is okay. There are no complaints at all. If you need it, this is the best option. But what is it? Spring. when your garden hose is in a polluted pool of water and a strange coincidence happens and the water pressure in your house goes negative. Well, you could end up sucking dirty water into your house or even the city's drinking water. Does it ever happen? No idea. But to prevent that, you…
