Description of πŸ‘ Ecoigy 14x14 Wool Ironing Pad - Premium New Zealand Wool Quilting Mat

CUT PRESSING TIME in half and create flatter, more professional-looking blocks. Specially felted wool traps the heat of your iron and radiates it back through the fabric. This has the effect of pressing both sides of the fabric at the same time. PREVENTS STRETCHING of quilt blocks by gripping fabric with its dense interlocking wool felt fibers. Accurate pressing, without distortions or skewing, is the hallmark of an experienced quilter or seamstress, resulting in quicker and easier assembly. 100% PURE NEW ZEALAND WOOL is naturally fire-resistant and heat-absorbent. Used with dry heat, the Ecoigy Ironing Pad is suitable for use on any table, countertop or other surface without risk of scorching or burning. 100% MONEY BACK GUARANTEE: Your satisfaction is our top priority. We provide a no-hassle return policy and prompt & friendly customer service. If you are at all unsatisfied with the product we will refund your order. Smells like a sheep has walked in and won't go

I didn't want to buy a wool carpet because of the order. My biggest fear came true with this rug. Smells like sheep on a farm as soon as you open the package. Don't even think about ironing on it because it wakes up the SMELL to 20! And I had to spray my 409 cutting mat and leave it overnight, but it still smelled like sheep. Two days out and my Dritz cutting mat cleared the Oder perfectly. I have emailed the family business with suggestions to eliminate Oder and have not received a response…

Pros
  • 100% PURE NEW ZEALAND WOOL is inherently flame retardant and heat absorbing. The Ecoigy Dry Heat Ironing Pad is suitable for use on any table, countertop or other surface without the risk of scalding or burns.
Cons
  • No machine

Quality product best for sewing

I sew to order, both quilts and clothes. Conventional ironing boards have an open work surface through which steam flows. The design of this pressing surface can be transferred to the material to be pressed due to fragile, insufficient caps. I have done other coatings to prevent this but have never been happy with the results. This wool ironing mat is evenly dense, stable and sits right next to my machine, I don't have to get up and go to the ironing board every time I need to iron and can make

Pros
  • Cut pressing time in half and create flatter, more professional looking blocks. The specially felted wool captures the heat from your iron and reflects it back through the fabric. This results in simultaneous compression of both sides of the tissue.
Cons
  • Little things

yes it smells suitable for quilting

As a long time quilter I've always heard that these wool press mats are great for flat seams. Seeing this one at a reasonable price decided to give it a try despite the smell reviews. I thought it would smell like wet dog and it really does. At first the smell was almost unbearable. Although it was winter, I opened the next window. The smell has diminished with use, although my husband finds it still smells quite unpleasant. As far as creating flat seams, I really don't see much of a difference

Pros
  • PREVENTS STRETCHING of quilt blocks by enclosing the fabric in dense, intertwined wool felt fibers. Gentle, twist-free pressing is the hallmark of a skilled quilter or seamstress, resulting in faster and easier assembly.
Cons
  • boring packaging
