Efficient Power Distribution For Auto, RV, Motorcycle, And Boat With InstallGear 0/2/4 AWG Gauge Power Distribution Block Review

I use 2 of these for my 2000 watt inverter in my semi which runs off of 6 huge heavy duty 12v batteries to power a 900 watt microwave, mini fridge, and other electronics and not only do they have to withstand much more punishment and jarring than your average car, if my power cable were to fall out running off that many large batteries pushing that many amps it could very easily start a fire so my connections MUST be as solid and strong as possible and so far these pass the test.

I used the 1/0 gauge wires and two 1/0awg to 4awg distributions blocks to relocate my battery. The only problem I had was the cable going to the starter was 2awg and the outlets for the block was 4awg. I did not want to use a reducer because I wanted a clean look so I took the block and drilled out one hole to gauge it up. The material was quite soft making the cut very easy and clean. Unless you pulled the wire you would not know the difference.The only thing I would complain about if I was to

The distribution block worked well. However, the plastic cover could fit better and be more secure. Overall, good product and would buy again.

Good overall unit. I had hoped it would be more waterproof. It has a cap which will defend off a splash but water can easily penetrate it.

To clear up confusion its a solid metal connection, meaning that you don't HAVE to use the input for the wire going to your battery. My battery wire is 8 gauge so I plugged that in the output along with 2 other 8 gauge connections for 2 amps and it works fine that way.

Great! Works awesome and very heavy duty. The clear plastic housing isnt the most secure but it doesnt serve much of a purpose in my application anyways

Does exactly what it says! Feels very high quality. I have my 4awg going in, 4awg going out and a 10awg going out as well! I can’t tell any decrease or loss in power.

It's an OK distribution block for the price. There are cutouts on the side that make for a possible short and the finish isn't perfect, but I didn't buy it for a show car. It's working fine for my 200 and 400 watt amps, should have gotten a smaller one for my use though.

InstallGear just keeps impressing me. This power distribution block looks good and works great! Smooth, clean finish. The hex head set screws provide firm clamping on both sides, the 0AWG input and 4AWG outputs. I use it as part of my battery relocation, but it would work just as well for serious car audio applications. Will definitely use these in future projects!

I liked the item. I bought it for distribution of 12v+ and one for 12v- in my trunk area. I will feed 12v power to relays and other things that require 12 volts. Nice product.

Exactly what I was looking for to connect and clean up some wiring circuits, and in fact exceeds my hopes. These (I bought 2) are heavy, well built and well machined chunks of mental, and the robust plastic cover keeps inadvertent "sparking" from happening. I wish I had found these 20 years ago!

This block was used to tie a 2 AWG wire to two 4 AWG wires which power my sub and amplifier which are located in the trunk. Thanks for attention.

I used this as part of a full solar/power system on my teardrop camper. After a year, it has held up well, giving me zero problems. It was fairly easy to install and worked as advertised. The full system provides several days of capacity when the sun is not shining (running some lights, a small cooler, and a CPAP at night). When the sun is shining (or we are on shore power) it has enough capacity to keep the batteries topped off so we can run indefinitely.

Note that a best practice for the terminals of your 8/0 or 4/0 cable is to use round terminals which are then flattened when tightened in this distribution block. Durability unknown

I needed a couple of these to rewire my existing amp to allow for a powered subwoofer in my Jeep Wrangler. These have a sturdy build and the wires were able to be attached securely.

Low quality piece. what you really get is an 4 gauge input to 4ea 10 gauge outputs . useless for power. maybe for a weird ground application but definitely not high power.

Installation was a breeze and it secures the wires well. Even if you aren't running large gauge wire from your battery you can still use this block by using the 4 smaller holes for both in and out wiring and give yourself a bit of future-proofing if you want to upgrade amps/wire later.
