🐟 EHEIM TWIN Automatic Feeder with Battery Operation Review

Worked well over the 2 week vacation, although my daughter had to refill the tanks once during that time (I have a 150 gallon aquarium with large feeders!). I turned it off when we got back because I love it when fish associate me with food and come up to greet me when I approach the tank. Just two weeks of automatic feeding made them less receptive to me. With this device you can vary the time and amount of feeding. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.

I've been away for a week I have a 125 gallon and I filled it with cereal, it worked great. If you use fine pellet feed it will throw out too much, best to check. But I love this company, I have a filter, it works great, so I decided to try the feeder, it works great. The battery showed more than half full after 9 days of use, I haven't figured out how to turn it off. I don't think there is a power switch so I just take out the batteries. Hope that helps.

I feed 15 large tropical fish in a 150 gallon aquarium. Regular sized flakes pass through the snails fine, but adding a small pellet or shrimp will help. This saved my life on vacation. Although I have some opinions. Even at the lowest level, it gives out a huge amount of food. I have 30G and 24G so not many fish. This is too much food for my small aquariums. An improvement would be to allow a smaller dosed amount. Also, it would be nice to have an expanded program. The minimum he will dose is 1 time per day. Okay, this thing works fine, but damn "manual" isn't for the average person. I had to read it multiple times by referring to the chart (many pages turned here folks) to set it up. I have tried many feeders over the years but have mostly been unhappy with uneven portion sizes due to the rotating drum running out of feed. Although this Eheim Twin Feeder doesn't like big flakes and clogs easily, I've found Tetra Crisps to work perfectly because they're smaller and more uniform in size.
