It's fun and easy to use for the most part

I've wanted this program for a long time. It's fun and easy to use for the most part. And there seem to be some instructional videos. I recommend it for quilts.

Great software for quilting

Great software for turning your creative ideas into quilt patterns. The software has a touch of Windows software as it was originally written for the PC and ported with an emulator. I had no problems with this software.

Terribly clunky software

This is by far the most unintuitive software I've ever bought. It looks so archaic it's practically unusable, just like the tutorials. I'm so disappointed with EQ7 for Mac. What a waste of time and money. I thought it would make the design easier, but this one is going in the bin.

Very helpful and worth it.

This is a pretty decent program. I went through all the tutorials that came with it, and that same evening I continued development and started working on my block. Yes, there is a learning curve, but the tutorials are very well done and the software is pretty intuitive. I really like that I can import my own fabrics into designs and try them out before a cut is made. I see that I will use it frequently in the years to come.

It would be nice to be able to export template forms as well.

The software has limited functionality but is suitable for simple quilts. When printing, you can't even choose a specific printer, it just chooses the default printer. So when I want to print block templates to a PDF, I can't. While this can be helpful when designing a quilt, it falls short when it comes to creating patterns for your quilt. The only way is to print out paper templates. It would be nice to be able to export pattern shapes with seam allowances added in various file formats that…

Has its own features but worth every penny

I agree with others that the software has its limitations and idiosyncrasies. The interface is Windows-like (Windows 90s in a way) and not immediately intuitive in many ways. However, it offers plenty of helper tools and online support (free) to make up for that and help you get the most out of it. Once you know the basic principles, it's easy to use and very flexible. There's also no doubt that this is the best quilting software currently available (unless EQ8 is better). The ability to create

Runs on Mac OS but is not really a "Mac version "

This is a highly reliable application that will do anything you need it to do. However, if like me you're a pure Mac user (I've used a Mac since 1989) and have little to no experience with a Windows computer, you'll find the learning curve even more difficult. works fine on my mac laptop but the interface is designed as a windows interface. The file structure looks like it does on Windows, not on the Mac. (See photo). Apparently a Windows programmer just jumped in and made the necessary changes
