I don't know why some people don't like this gun! It shoots staples up to 1" and nails up to 1-1/4". Using an extension will definitely weaken the gun, so I suggest using a short extension and 12 gauge cable, at least if you really need it. and most nails go all the way in. That's enough for an inexpensive nail gun. I took regular 18 gauge nails that I've used previously without jamming (knock on wood). But. This is NOT a professional handgun.
