🔌 Elgato Thunderbolt 3 Dock: 40Gb/s, Dual 4K, USB-C, USB 3.0, Gigabit Ethernet, Aluminum Chassis Review

I use this with my MacBook and so far most things work. The external monitor keeps flickering and I don't have to constantly unplug the USB-C cable to reconnect the external monitor to the app, and even with that, the docking station seems overpriced for all its woes.

This is the second Elgato Thunderbolt 3 dock Revain has sent me - the first one lost connection to the display via USB3 or Displayport connections every time my MacBook Pro 2017 reconnected to the docking station. I'm using this for my 2017 15" MacBook Pro and so far so good! I've connected two Asus 2k monitors, one via displayport and the other via USB -C to DisplayPort cable. I then connect my new external Samsung T5 SSD via USB in the back for TimeMachine backup. The unit is smaller than I thought it would be. No weird noises, no hissing at all from the hub. I bought this dock primarily to make it easier for me to connect two external 2k monitors via a Thunderbolt 3 connector. usually doesn't work. Before I bought Elgato's product, I carefully researched TB3 docking stations (other options were Belkin, OWC, Caldigit and Kensington). Like other browsers It just didn't work "right" if you have a docking station like hengeDock or something where you just plug in your laptop and everything is connected through it.
