I got this as a gift for my sister who loves outdoor activities. Didn't want to mess with it too much since it's a gift. But I wanted to try it to make sure it's not scary because it's a gift. It appears to be a fairly well made product. All of the features seem pretty easy to manage, so it doesn't take much tinkering to figure it out. I would say that this is a good gift for those who like camping, camping and the like.

Does everything it says it does but it doesn't have rubber feet or a handle that sits perpendicular to the body - those things make the radio slide around everywhere if you do REALLY try the crank. Thought it would be good to keep this in the car just in case. It hasn't made it to my car yet because my 5 year old thinks it's the coolest thing ever. He loves to play with the radio and wonders how it works when there is no wifi. The flashlight is very bright and the solar charger works well. My 5 year old is also interested. There's even a weather group that works, didn't even know it existed. It's smaller than I expected but that makes it easier to fit in my car.

These manually operated solar powered units have come a long way. The ability to charge via USB and easily removable and swappable 18650 cells are a big plus. You can still use solar charging, which is slow due to the limited surface area of the solar cell. Yes, you can run the hand crank in a REAL emergency, but you won't go full to full.
