Mixed feelings good for rope

I bought this 4mm UHMWPE to make whoopi and ridgeline loops. Does NOT work very well for whoopies because of the slippery wax. 3) Highly flammable due to wax. If the wax coating is washed off, the rope is sufficiently fire-resistant. Conclusion. If natural colored Dynema line were sold in Emma's kits I would probably recommend them. But I do not recommend this product because what they have ever used to dye this rope renders this rope almost useless in most cases.

It seems very strong and is exactly what I was looking for.

I heard about this product from a video and decided to check it out. I ordered it because the working line rating is about 440 pounds, which is 30% buffer on top of the load it will have. The fishing line came wound on a large spool. I put it in a flat diaper holder for storage and watched it while moving it. There were no cuts or stitches and all threads appear to be intact. I hope I never have to use this product but I have no doubt it will get the job done.

3mm vision best for outdoor activities

I've used up my 100ft of 3mm Dyneems. To me this is a cross between Amsteel SK78 and Marlow Ropes SK99. Closer to the original SK90 which IMO was chipping and turning light gray but to a much lesser extent than this line. This is my only criticism as it otherwise behaves like a heat set Dyneema (which is NOT as soft as the stock Amsteel SK78). It has held up well everywhere I've used it. It's not my first choice for soft shackles or above deck use due to the shedding propensity, but it's still…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

I love the added strength and low stretch of this cable. I used it to set up a hammock suspension line and learned a thing or two about its behavior. UHMWPE has an extremely low coefficient of friction (it's very slippery), so make sure the knots you tie with this cord are jam-proof. I tied an eight, but even that was very difficult to remove. As it jammed, pulling the end of the cord through the stuck part of the knot generated quite a bit of heat, which severely damaged the fibers. UHMWPE has

Disappointed with the coating

Good quality Dynema is slippery but the Dynema cord itself is soft and quite flexible. This line has a number of specific problems. At first it looks like they're going to cover it with a very heavy wax. When washing with soap and water in a bucket, a ton of black/dark stuff comes out of the line. Because of the coating, it slips through standard sail grommets. This line is not soft either. The first impression is the same as that of the cheap yellow nylon rope you can buy at the hardware…

Dark Gray instead of Black

This cable is 50% lighter than paracord. The image looks black and black, which is what I wanted, but it's actually slate gray. It still works well with camouflage color schemes. It melts from a lighter, but not cleanly and not quickly. Usually a knot is tied at the end or the end is burned after working with the rope, but this rope starts to unravel too easily. I sewed small loops of this rope onto the water bladder cover I made and in some places the rope just lost its tight weave through…

Works perfectly with soft shackles

As a tugboat captain I found Amsteel, Spectra or Dyneema to be the industry standard for HMPE rope so I was wary of buying a Chinese made product. I haven't tested it for strength yet, but I can say that you get ideal soft clips from a size of 4.5 mm. I don't usually write reviews but I read one where someone tried to make a harness but failed miserably and blamed it on the rope. Maybe it was a different size. As an experienced rigger I was very pleased with the ease of use of this line. My…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Reliability

I ordered the same material (1.8mm) 2 years ago and the material was fantastic. Dense, tight weaving, comfortable to the touch. Well this is a slack, light and thin cable - obviously they are cutting costs at the expense of quality. See photo - the older model is light gray with a much denser weave. The new material is dark and very loosely woven. I work with a lot of Amsteel/Dynmeema/UHMWPE and this material has no value anymore. a tighter weave is more desirable for hand feel and to reduce…
