Works as it should.

Works as it should but I'm still having trouble with the same code related to the gas cap. If I pull it tighter, it's very hard for everyone in my house to take it off except me.

Doesn't work for 2004 Honda Element

Didn't fix my 2004 Honda Element. As a result, they took it to the dealer, checked and checked again. This lid didn't close properly. I ended up buying an OEM Honda cover ($60 plus diagnostic fee) and everything is fine now. there is no light I'm sorry I wasted my money. I wish I could return it!

Pros
  • Industry Best
Cons
  • Minor issues

Factory defect

Bought this replacement gas cap about 2 months ago, overall it's a great cap, it fits my 2001 Honda Civic. however, it doesn't serve its purpose at all, as it has a hole in the white plastic vent that allows petrol fumes to constantly escape, it's most likely a casting defect. I could smell them when I got out of the car after the ride. I'm sure most don't have this defect, but be careful.

Pros
  • Fits me great
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Didn't work in my 2004 CRV

A few days after installation the check engine light on the dash came on in place of my lost original fuel cap. A $50 estimate from the dealer suggested the problem was with the fuel system. I asked if a new aftermarket gas cap could be causing this error message. Yes. Of course, after they replaced it with the original Honda cover, I didn't have that problem. I wanted to save money by buying a cheaper part, but it ended up costing me more.

Pros
  • Permanent test results
Cons
  • Newer model could have been chosen
