I bought this cutting board on the recommendation of a friend. This was to replace my brand new Boos board which had warped and split (literally) weeks after receipt. While the surface will cut with sharp and well-kept knives, many cutting boards will do. I liked the ridges on the edges that help hold the juices and prevent items from rolling off.
