Bigger screws

Brackets worked as expected. The support is within the specified weight. However, the mounting screws included with the brackets were too small. A trip to the hardware store for #8 stainless steel screws solved the problem and securely attached the brackets to the tailgate.

  • Convenient item
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks

Good product good for accessories

I saw them on Motor Trend TV and thought they were really cool! I received them and attached them to the back door. Quick tip: I used 2x4s to bolt them directly to the tailgate and used longer bolts. I found the screws provided to be too short and looking at these would be great for the handles on a large trellis or drawer, they are really well made. and great price!

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • There are problems

Great tool, best for outdoor activities

They have been very useful in many cases, very easy to install. We used this product for many different ideas we had, while camping I built a table with a back gate, even a kind of bench to catch fish from the shore. Not to mention what they were originally made for, like a saw etc. I only have one issue, you can use the higher quality mounting screws that are provided, but it's still a great utility product.

Just what I needed

I wanted a bed extender but didn't want to buy anything bulky or expensive. It was right. I cut out two 2x4 pieces to extend the bed and use the third as a crossbar. I then drilled holes and installed a thumb screw to hold the crossbar in place during use. When not in use, three 2x4s lie along the edge of the bed, taking up almost no space. I can expand or disassemble my setup in about a minute.

Screws need to be modified.

Begins to rust after a few weeks. I had to retrofit the screws as they were too small. They do their job as they should, but I wouldn't trust the original screws. In addition, the inner tailgates of trucks are now made of plastic, which cannot withstand high traction. I used a couple on the back of the truck itself, in the steel floor of the body, this will require the most force. For the top pair I used longer steel bolts up to the aluminum frame. I can stand on a plywood platform if it's…
