⚡️ ESI 480A Multimeter with Auto Ranging Review

This multimeter was better than I expected. Auto ranking makes it much easier to use. around it is a soft rubber casing. keeps it safe if you drop it. I wish it came with a carry case, that's not a big deal. I like it so much that I now want a case for it.

I like the multimeter. However, I bought it mainly because of the Hz function. Although it reads 60.0 Hz at home (which is to be expected) I bought it to test the Hz on my alternator. In addition, the 3rd harmonic of 181 Hz seems to be read. Maybe it's just the oscillator's fault since I don't have a more expensive meter like the Fluke to compare the readings with.

The appearance of this gauge is pleasing. Accuracy and accuracy are good, autoranging is fast enough, and when I need faster readings, manual ranging eliminates latency. The continuity test buzzer is loud enough to be heard. I replaced a Radio Shack 22-163 (20 year old) with this gauge and it has the same performance and better durability.
