This is a leather grip Estwing.

I probably shouldn't have bought this hammer but damn it's a beautiful hammer. I like hammers and I like such a nice bang!

Pros
  • Quality workmanship
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

It's all about that extra punch

Nice hammer, I often see my colleagues have buttons and I used to feel at home with them but now I have that extra punch with a leather handle I just see a bit classier, or maybe bougie.

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Protection

bottom plate. for hammers

This hammer looks great, is well balanced and feels good in your hand. The biggest complaint about this hammer is that the steel plate holding the skin came loose within a day of use. I welded on the stripped ends hoping they wouldn't rattle and unravel anymore. The welds came loose and it continued to rattle and is now very loose. The bare ends will wear out and I'm sure the bottom plate will soon fall off taking the rest of the grip with it.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Unfashionable

Try it at the hardware store before you pull the trigger

If you (still) have a decent hardware store in your town, do this before you make the leap here. Why? Let me give you the facts. I have several tools from Estwing and this is one manufacturer that still gets it right. Everything I've gotten from them (including their Taiwan-made tools) is top-notch, especially the tried-and-true 16-ounce flat hammer, which is every bit as good as Grandpa's original and will probably end up in my kids' toolboxes. . Enter this hammer, which I'll simply refer to…

Pros
  • Hands Free
Cons
  • Very Expensive

It's all about the extra

Nice hammer, I often see my co-workers have spikes and I've felt right at home with them, but now I have that extra flared leather handle makes me look a little classier, or maybe bougie.

Beautiful hammer

I've probably bought over a hundred over the years. We have a ranch and it looks like the boys lost enough hammers for us to hammer trees. I've been told this is the best hammer we've ever bought. I don't know about ounces, I don't care. But the hammer lies well in the hand and is somehow not heavy on the hands. Our son said this is the best balanced hammer he has ever used. I know we are not professional carpenters so you might have a different opinion. I think the skin absorbs the vibration.

Pros
  • FORGED IN ONE PIECE - the strongest and most durable hammer tool on the market
Cons
  • Expensive
