Ideal for watch O-rings.

This was bought to put some grease on the gasket after changing the battery in my G-Shock watch. This came in a nice little tub and has a sponge attached to the top of the lid. This works very well for my purposes. I can't imagine ever needing more unless it dries up, but I would buy it again if the need ever came up.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Sticky Grease: Fillers, Adhesives & Sealants

I saw a similar product on YouTube and loved the design and ease of use. Same design but awkward to use. The first; the pot was full of fat on the outside, second, the fat is too sticky and you end up with a lot of it on the seal, third; Because it's sticky, the pad will curl up when you try to apply the silicone.

Fat hardening on brief storage

Kept at room temperature in my tool box for only a few months; But when I had to lubricate the gasket of a diving watch case, I found that the lube turned into a gel and was difficult to apply to the gasket. What should have been a quick application turned into a time consuming process of removing hardened globs of grease from the gasket.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Minor issues

Not what I expected.

I was surprised when I opened the container. It was a sponge on top, a sponge on the bottom, and a ball of silicone grease folded in the middle. I had to laugh because that's what it is. Nothing special and I still have grease on my fingers. For that price I could buy a tube of silicone grease and just lubricate the watch seals with a rag. Oh, that seemed like a good idea at the time. I had to think things through.

  • The best in its niche

VERY sticky, not as comfortable as it looks

This thing has a big ball of silicone grease inside. Instead of dropping the o-ring, quickly twisting and pulling off the neatly greased o-ring, there is so much excess grease inside that you'll pull out a gooey mess. I found it easier to just put a little grease on my fingers and rub them gently over the o-ring to avoid excess grease. I won't return an item that cheap, but it won't be of much use either.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Some little things

Overpriced - Putties, Adhesives & Sealants

Bought this to service two watches with metal screw caps. The product works as advertised but is way overpriced in my opinion. You can go to any local auto parts store and buy silicone grease to protect electrical connectors from water and dirt, and this clear grease will work just as well. If you use an advertised product or other silicone lubricant to lubricate your watch's seals, remember not to over-lubricate. It is enough to put a little grease on the seal with your fingers.

  • Good Thing

Clear Window Sealant - Fillers, Adhesives and Sealers

I worked in a clock shop for a while and used one of these professional grade silicone sealers. Nothing like that, the consistency is more like the silicone used to seal gaps in your window. The purpose of the sponge is to soak up the thin grease/grease that is keeping your seals from dying and not make a huge mess of gooey silicone! I've attached a picture of "Silicone Sealant" aka Sealant, essentially the same thing. The screw cap isn't a big deal as others have said because you can just…
