These caps can have different "size" versions, this 5" cap is actually 6" in diameter. It's supposed to be for 5 inch pipe, which is the ID for PVC pipe. t.too big.returned

I used it on the back of a miter saw. It fits the vacuum hose perfectly, so I cut a circle for the back of the miter saw (where the sawdust comes out) and the other side clamps the back of the magazine. I'm almost out of sawdust now.

These cases are very durable and well made. I replaced my 3 drain cleaning plugs with two 4" and one 6" Supply Giant plugs. The adjustable strap loosens enough to be removed, allowing the cap to stretch a little to fit snugly and snugly on the hose. The three I replaced were originals with the house and are 16 years old and sun damaged and cracked and torn.
