Worked great! for household sensors and alarms

I use this to detect water on the floor next to my water heater and send an alert to my HUD SmartThings to signal my Water Gofer to close the main water valve. I can rest easy!

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • something else

Very nice and reliable water sensor

Very happy with it after 5 months of use. Register online quickly. Stay online, don't quit. I test every two weeks. So far no batteries. The LEDs don't seem to work as described in the manual, but I'm pretty sure they do based on my testing. I will buy more.

  • Amazing
Cons

My units quickly broke down

bought two of these blocks. One didn't fit at all - sent back, they said everything was fine. I told the seller I didn't need this device and he quickly returned my money. The second had a 0% battery warning after 6 weeks. Replaced the batteries and tried unplugging them from the grid but to no avail. This goes in the trash. waste of time

Pros
  • Excellent general characteristics
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Easy to install, best in household sensors and alarms

Easy to install, easy to set up with the Samsung SmartHub and works and does as advertised. Sends a triggered alert to my phone via Samsung's SmartThings app, which also sends a text message to my wife. It has been installed for several weeks, there are no false alarms. The sensor has two small metal rods spaced half a centimeter apart - they need to be underwater to work. Seems like a good design to avoid false alarms and only fire when wet.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons

Great water sensor and easy setup with Smartthings

Within 5 minutes of opening the ST812 flood sensor the SmartThings hub recognized the device and I had set up a connection to close the water valve, turn on the siren , turn on the lights and notify me if you get wet. I don't know about reliability or longevity yet, but judging by the apparent good quality of the device and how well it works once set up, I suspect it will be fine. This device replaced an Aeotec water sensor that was misconfigured with SmartThings and never reported its statusโ€ฆ

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Legacy model

Nice water sensor, but beware: it's a beast! I mean, don't expect to squeeze this thing into a tight corner behind the dash or anything. If you need a very small sensor, check out "Aeotec, Z-Wave Flood & Leak Water Sensor". Still: I don't like products that use AAA batteries anymore as they often aren't enough to provide enough power for most gimmicks and this Everspring ST812 uses 3 AA(!) batteries and I expect them to last forever :) Apart from that: the integration into the VERA Plus systemโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Wet sensor false alarms are good for safety

When I first installed this water sensor I really liked it. The wired sensor allowed me to place the electrode where I expected water to pool without getting in the way of the main unit. However, about a month later I had the first false alarm "wetโ€. No water in sight, no wet electrode. I took the battery out, tried resetting it, tried removing and adding it back to SmartThings, still reported a wet condition, then it magically restarted. Everything's OK again. NOT RIGHT! Again after about aโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Only available in black

Very sensitive! Not compatible with Qolsys Panel

Very sensitive flood sensor. Even touching two probes will disable the alarm for just a second. I have no doubt that with the right settings it will work fine. Unfortunately, my setup is incorrect. I confirmed this when trying to set up notifications on alarm.com after linking it to a Z-Wave device in my Qolsys panel. In short, this sensor is definitely NOT compatible with the Qolsys panel, period. You can tether it, it will detect water, but it won't really do anything about it. No alarms, noโ€ฆ
