Looking for the best Buy X299 Mombo? stop here EVGA X299 FTW-K

I thought my budget was under $400 and it was when I built my wife's X299. Stumbled across this gem for $150 (December 2018). Looked very well appointed. I went through the installation instructions on the EVGA website and... hey, 150 page masterpiece, all in English! And with two integrated LAN inputs. The form factor is EATX so definitely consider that, but what a great $150 A** board. At first I thought it was the size of Matx or ITX. Fully featured, works great with 10-core Skylake-x…

Slot machines are a problem! Good for motherboards

This board worked great, very fast and very economical. But he has a problem I couldn't handle. The board has 6 slots (4 PCI-E x16 2x16, 2x8*, 1 PCI-E x4, 1 PCI-E x1). The slots are numbered from top to bottom. The graphics card is installed in slot 2 (double slot). If you have slots 2, 3 and 5 installed it works great. If you install a card in slot 1 or 2, the motherboard just turns on the power, turns on the fans, and then turns off. Contacted EVGA and after many problems photographing the…

Very disappointed. the best motherboards

I have been using EVGA products for several years now and this is the first semi disaster I have experienced. I'll leave this as "semi-" and one star for now as they're still trying to get this motherboard to work. I received this on 8/20/20 and it is now 9/29/20. I bought this with a new Intel i9 10900X processor. Reviews, forums, and websites claim that this board is compatible. First boot experience: error code "dF" indicating the BIOS is out of date. So if you have a newer processor it is…

At first the board beeped because my 10th gen processor was not recognized. I had to install a new BIOS chip to recognize the i9-10900x. After installing the BIOS chip, it showed error C, which was the processor. After many different tech support people, calls, photos and wasted time, I was told to return the board. Followed procedures and was told a replacement would be sent. Another week later and no response from EVGA, logged into the ticket and found that the RMA had been denied due to bad…

Buy board for video and photo editing

I replaced the Asus X299 board with this board after Asus suddenly stopped publishing, only 17 months. After two frustrating weeks with Asus, they took the board to RMA and blamed the problem on a bent CPU pin as I hadn't touched the CPU socket since installation. So, I'm done with Asus. This board is much faster with the same memory and processor as Asus. It's rock solid and will take anything I throw at it. I use PS, In Design, Premiere and some other applications, process videos in Median…
