I loved it when I first got it but after a few months it fell apart. The insides all started to sag and the screws fell off. Now when I use it, the bulb sits right on top of the cage roof grid and gives off a burning smell, so I had to throw it away. I never write negative reviews but this product is really dangerous and a waste of money.

I use this in my exo terra bioactive tank. The plants really seem to be growing a lot better since I've had this mount. It looks really good on the Exo Terra and seems to complete the setup. It slightly warms the tank by 1 or 2 degrees if left on for a few hours, but that's not a problem at all. I used an exo terra repti-glo 2.0 compact fluorescent lamp for this. Highly recommended if you want to improve plant growth.

bought this to accommodate UV for my geckos, gold dust day, the first light I bought worked for about a month then suddenly it wouldn't turn on on, checked the outlet, I checked the bulb, found it to be this headlight housing, then got a new one. However, the new one didn't work from the start, I had to fiddle with every lightbulb I plugged in to get it lit for even a second. . I bought this to use on my crested gecko. Works perfectly! Arrived very well packaged and undamaged. It is the smallest and only fits a lightbulb. I use it on Exo Terra 18x18x18. It is smaller than the terrarium but works perfectly. I use a UVB lamp and it has not cracked or damaged the lamp. It illuminates the aquarium so I can see inside and is very compact if your terrarium is on a shelf. I set up a timer and it works great. There's a manual button that you can toggle on and off if you like.

This light fits perfectly in one of the vents at the top of my visual cage so it gives a great light from above. One of the internal parts (don't know what it's called) broke shortly after arrival and I don't know how I did it, so it's safe to say that despite its sturdiness, this is a fragile device. *FINALLY* the manufacturer recommends only using their expensive CFL bulbs for this fixture.
