Great product and price!

It's great. The size of the stones is different. I have it as an intermediate floor in a Zoomedical aquarium 18x18x18. It takes about 3 bags to make a decent layer if you're using it for a bioactive vivarium.

Pros
  • Durable test results
Cons
  • Little things

Buy it if you are lazy.

good quality. But these are just lava rocks. Except cleaner and smoother pieces. Much cheaper at the local hardware store. And a much bigger bag for the money. Best value for money for little extra effort.

Pros
  • price
Cons
  • boring packaging

Good water level in substrate

Used these to create the water level in my crested gecko tank, in addition to a biodrainage mesh with coconut shells and some moss on top. With daily spraying, the humidity is maintained in the range of 70-80. I've had the setup up and running for over a month now and haven't seen any mold growth and my godfather is happy and healthy.

  • Pretty impressive

Large and thick uneven parts

This is not what I was looking for. Too thick and lumpy. I wanted to return it but the return shipping cost was half the price of the product so I'm just trying to resell it. I ended up going to Home Depot and bought a giant bag of River Rock which was very cheap ($4.97 for a giant bag) and it worked great. I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a slicker, smaller pad. Might work for some, just not what I wanted.

Pros
  • Ease of use
Cons
  • Quick start guide

Lava Rocks basically 3/4 "

Good product, I bought 3 bags which probably gave me just under 3" deep, 3" wide and 16" long. I highly recommend measuring your terrarium as one bag doesn't cover a large area. They are simply medium-sized lava rocks, 1/4 to 1 inch wide. Most of them are about 3/4 inch tall. I also bought a bag of Hoffman brand lava rocks from Revain for my top layer and most of the rocks were just over 1/4 inch and cost about $3 more too. Before you buy, find out what sizes of lava rocks you want.

  • Best in Niche
