Everything you need for the electrics

Immediately after unpacking you notice that the thing is reliably processed. I tested all the features of this tester and so far they meet my needs. The non-contact voltage sensor will make you feel like a ghost hunter (seriously!). My slight disappointment with this is that changing the settings reverts your DC-to-AC settings back to DC. I had the misfortune to test the 10A setting and didn't notice it reverting back to DC. Blew one of my adapters and melted a hole in the connectors, not to…

Nice meter! Best in Electrical

Edit: This is a complete overhaul! Extech shipped me this meter with leads that had non-conductive debris on them, severely limiting its performance, especially when measuring resistance and capacitance. But after I washed the sensors with dish soap and a brush, everything changed! This is a great buy for under $100. Buy this product if you want a $50 counter that works great! I immediately warn you that the capacitance is not measured above 220uF. Regarding the sensor issue: I emailed tech…

Great little multimeter for home and digital electronics hobbyists.

Great little home and hobby multimeter that works with digital electronics. This multimeter is a big step up from cheap auto parts testers, but much cheaper than the comparable Fluke. I personally prefer the Fluke, but can't justify paying 2 or 3 times the money for what I need it for. Speaking of which, I've used it for home wiring projects, electronics repairs, battery testing, temperature measurements, and resistance/capacitance testing. All readings were within expected ranges, however I do

Nice cheap DMM with some issues with the battery harness.

I do quite a bit of electrical work in my job, so I have experience with electrical equipment. I needed a cheap gauge that I could keep at home that had enough features to cover a wide range of home and car projects. For the small price, it does its job well. Works as advertised and shipping was fast. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars out of 5 is the battery harness which doesn't seem to be holding the batteries as well as one might hope. Shaking the meter (in this case, dropping the meter…

Full review (tear)

Disadvantages: - The battery connector clamp is fragile, there are no contacts in the case. This results in a very high load voltage. - The maximum voltage in DIODE is only 1.55V, so the LED cannot be turned on. - Slow autotuning, especially in ohms. - The holster is slippery. The gauge slides into the table when the handle is rotated with one hand. - To replace the battery, you must remove the case. - Fragile folding bracket. - There is no AWG reference on the sensor cables. - The first left…
