works but barely

Bought to reinstall door hinges. They are difficult to use unlike my others for centering the drill. Although the price was good.

Pros
  • hand tool
Cons
  • write later

Low cost, low quality

I used 5/64 only for some small keepsake boxes. Larger sizes might work better, but the ones I've used don't center at all. The hole can be anywhere inside the guide. It might have been better to spend a little more on this item. I'm better at eyeballs.

Pros
  • Drill
Cons
  • Doubtful

Clean them first: Drill

I bought these primarily for cabinet hinges and they work well for that, but I use them for many other projects as well. You really need to clean them first as mine were filled with some kind of light grease that interfered with their work, they were sticky. After cleaning I used some dry PTFE lube. Since then they have been working fine. Treat them like a drill and protect them, they will not survive hard falls. Even the more expensive one doesn't survive a fall, ask me how I know that :0

Pros
  • Power tool parts and accessories
Cons
  • There are new competitors
