Garbage from the US.

I don't care if it's "Made in the USA" or not. It's junk like every other can opener in the world. Less than 2 years old and rusted everywhere. Don't do it halfway around the can until it stops cutting. I would seriously pay $40 for a quality can opener. if only he really existed!

Pros
  • Looks good
Cons
  • No paint required

Disappointing kitchen and dining item

I ordered this can opener on recommendation from America's Test Kitchen. Unfortunately, after 4 months in a clockwise direction, it no longer opens correctly. I can only use it counterclockwise. Otherwise parts of the jar will remain unopened. It also rusted very easily. Disappointing because it was really easy to use and comfortable when it worked. Does the can crease when opening

These worked for a couple of weeks then I started having problems with them. You do a quarter around the can, then he starts bending the can and stops cutting. He continues to cut and then bends the can again on the opposite side. Getting him to open a can is a struggle that usually ends in a torn can. The black plastic handles do not stay attached and slide off the stainless steel. The EZ-DUZ-IT website doesn't have any contact information to reach the company, but it still says "Get one today

Pros
  • An absolute legend

  • Big and bulky

Can't open jars manually

I bought this to replace an oxo opener that is probably about 10 years old and doesn't open as easily as it used to. The wire cutters enthusiastically recommended this opener and it was good value so I thought it was perfect. When I received it I wasn't impressed with the workmanship. It looked crude and cheap, but whatever it was, it was a can opener. The problem is that it doesn't open jars. at least not completely. It leaves a piece or two uncut, and no repeat will cut it. I've tried this on

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Poor set

Disapproving Father Approved

My father's can opener that he had for about 250 years broke. This was a serious problem, as I was certain that nothing else could match the standards that a colonial merchant had concocted for him long ago. He bought one at Walmart or somewhere else and it was "junk". On my last visit to his house I had to listen to him rant about not being able to find a decent can opener and nothing being done well these days; It was delicious. To make sure my next visit won't be the "second part" of his can
