Suitable for kids to draw

These are good pens for kids and I love that they come in 6 different skin tones. They don't blend well and the color doesn't pay off very well, but it's great for kids. Crayons are hexagonal and crayons are round. The box is very thin, so most of the pencils came with the tips broken off and needed sharpening. They need to be transferred to another pencil case.

Paint Set & Instructions

I love to paint and have a large collection of pens in various price ranges. Skin coloring and skin shading can be one of the trickiest parts of coloring with pens. People are diverse and even within the same ethnic group there can be many skin tones. The box contains 27 colors and instructions for mixing. I was also able to sharpen them with no wear on the tip, which can be an issue at times. They work fine. And pencils offer many ways to determine the right skin tone.

Average Colorist Review

So I'm not an artist. I paint while my baby sleeps for the second time, if time permits. I just wanted more color variety than any store offers for a reasonable price. It did it! I looked at reviews and those with photos and the detailed information was excellent. A common man's opinion - I like these colors. They offer a nice variety that differs from the standard colors of blue, red, black, etc. The skin tones are great as they aren't the standard variety of packaging colors either. I wouldโ€ฆ

Great starter set of oil color pencils for school children with portrait colours!

Overall: This is a great starter set of colored pencils for school kids for anyone who wants to try oil based pens instead of wax based pens. The color palette is well balanced and the complementary portrait/skin colors make it a great choice for most standard color needs. If you don't like oil-based crayons, I imagine the Prismacolor Scholar line is comparable to the wax pencil line in price and pigmentation, but not in build quality.
