OOP Missing Hera & Chopper

Overall, the Imperial Assault line has a great hidden feature. Ally cards for most of each wave come with add-ons! I was disappointed that some of them didn't exist, but they were always archetypes of minor characters or less unnamed. In this case, the entire GHOST command was included in the box! Super cool! Of course I had those numbers, so now I have duplicate cards. No big deal it seems. Turns out the box set didn't include cards for Hera and Chopper, who are the main characters of the…

I love this game. It can be played almost like a traditional board game PLUS it has a great firefight mode. What's not to like!? Just one, and that cost him a star. The figures in the set are fantastic but they are made out of plastic which seems to warp easily with heat. Most fixes are easy. Dip Vader's lightsaber in hot water and reshape it. Hold until it grabs. BUT. My AT-ST had quite a bit of thermal sag up front where the chin tower is mounted. Very annoying. BUT this is fixable too. I…

Great expansion for Imperial Assault.

Great expansion for Imperial Assault. This includes a new full campaign with a total of 16 new missions (although you still need the base set to play). It also offers 4-player skirmishes on a very large map with 2 different game modes, open to all or team battle. There is a lot of new content with brand new missions, heroes, class decks, 37 new card tiles, etc. I am really looking forward to playing this campaign as it is a brand new standalone storyline not just integrated into the base set…

X-COM Mish Mashed With Dungeons and Dragons

I love this game because the storytelling, events, maps etc really builds it up and the miniatures really tickle your imagination. It's pretty cool even if your group isn't particularly into it. However, it's pretty easy to play up your character a bit or add a little flair to the attack phases. It seems to me that this game is a cross between XCOM and DnD on rails. I like this approach because the few times I've played DnD, the GM hasn't usually been well prepared, and half the time I feel…

Your empire needs you!

Favorite game since I bought it a year ago. Two games in one and it eliminated my hobby cravings by giving me awesome looking thumbnails to color in. First game: campaign. A player plays with the glorious might of the Empire against 2-4 rebels who usually launch daring raids and spend most of the mission saving their lives (just like in Star Wars). Mission after mission the rebels are getting very strong and the empire is getting a little stronger. Then the empire wins in the end because the…

Awesome addon that adds a final character to the main campaign

Awesome addon to the main campaign game Imperial Assault that brings the villain of the main campaign to life. General Weiss is the main antagonist of the "story", a general who rides into battle in a heavily modified AT-ST. In the main game, White is represented by only one token (although a deployment card is available for him in the main game). To use it WITHOUT this expansion kit, you'll need to use either a token (something lame) or the base AT-ST that comes with the game. The great thing…

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • unreliable

This is a pretty basic dungeon crawler set in the Star Wars universe. He has a lot of potential to be great, but unfortunately he seems incredibly overwhelmed. There are 4 different books and a whopping 13 different decks to juggle, usually just to keep track of things like items and abilities. Since this is essentially the same game as Descent, most of it is unnecessary. Since many decks aren't even used for randomization, they can (and should) be replaced with a piece of paper, but I'd expect

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • There are problems

New missions, heroes, miniatures and Boba Fett?

First, let me get some important information out of the way. This is an expansion for Imperial Assault, don't buy it if you don't have the base game. Since I haven't played Imperial Assault's skirmish mode yet, this will be about the campaign only. So what do you get when you buy the Twin Shadows add-on? Short List of Components: 10 plastic figures, 12 map tiles, 2 hero sheets (with corresponding hero class decks of 9 cards each), 11 deployment cards, 6 agenda cards, 4 additional mission cards,

  • Decent performance
