The screwless version came as a surprise but works well.

Despite some complaints that the item doesn't match the picture, the boltless design fits my SUP perfectly. Insert into the slot of the box, press firmly and hold. The snap-on design eliminates screw fiddling, which I hate. The material appears to be high quality plastic. At half the price of a similar product that uses fiberglass and resin, it's a great value if you just casually hit the water with your board.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Can't remember

The picture in the ad does not match the fin you will receive

The picture in the ad does not match the fin you will receive. I wanted a touring/racing fin shape SUP fin and got a classic 9 inch surfboard shape without a prop fin instead. The boltless feature is good, but if you need/want more surface, SUP Touring Race fin shape as shown in the picture, then you'd better get it somewhere else. I have attached a photo of the type I received. You can buy the exact same ones at Revain at 9" for a few bucks less and with Prime.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Not everything fits

I bought this type of fin on purpose because I had issues with the new boltless designs that stayed in the board, as well as tool-less bolts with their oversized heads that stayed properly tightened under heavy use. Imagine my surprise when I opened this up and found a completely different…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • There are nuances
