Keep the old diaphragm and cut it into a ring.

Great little kit. In addition to the black rubber main diaphragm included in this kit, I cut out the center of the old diaphragm, made a ring (extra gasket) and doubled the new with the old. As a result, more rubber material can be compressed and the two halves of the BF-Preventer are sealed better. I think the four screws holding the two halves together are not enough. There should be 5-6 of them, which is why I doubled. All other components of the kit fit perfectly. No leaks! Super easy for…

Didn't work for me

Package arrived exactly as described. Fits perfectly on my Febco valve with all the seals. Now the bad news. I replaced all the parts, reassembled it exactly the way I disassembled it and it ran for about 15 minutes before it started leaking again. Yes, I cleaned the valve before replacing the seals. No, I didn't use any abrasives. Yes, I lubricated all new seals with silicone grease. No, I don't have water pressure greater than 50psi. So, I'm not sure what the problem is. I suspect that one of

Complete rubber restoration kit.

After moving into a new house that had been vacant for 5 years, I discovered a small static leak in my Febco 825Y 1 inch valve while running the sprinkler system. The Febco website was exceptional and provided a full parts breakdown along with an amazing YouTube video that walked me through the entire process of replacing all the seals and o-rings.
