Excellent pads. Low price. Good quality.

The best seals on the market. Good quality, great low price. Works well on many Subaru's I've used them on. There are no leaks at all. Surely will last a long time.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

FITS PERFECTLY 09 SUBARU FORESTER

I BRING THESE ON MY FORESTER and they solve the problem. Just make sure you polish the surface to spec and tighten to spec and they'll work perfectly if your heads aren't warped.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Working Speed

2009 Forester EJ25 upside down

So far so good (1000 miles) no problem. Check your block and go to the level! There was only one oil leak, but after disassembly the heads were not flat. So do it on the stand not in the bay. Your back will thank you.

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • Slightly torn

20,000 miles and blasted

Let me start by saying that I'm an automotive technician. I took my head to line them up and checked the block with a straight edge. Bolts were changed, thermostat replaced, entire system flushed and EVERYTHING tightened to specification. After 20,000 miles we're back to blown head gaskets. I'll stick with the dealer liners considering they've done 180,000 miles with no problems.

Pros
  • Stable Test Results

Finding Fel-Pro parts is controversial.

Revain lists this part number (26415PT) as fitting my 2010 Subaru Outback 2.5L SOHC even though the box says 1998-2009. The Fel-Pro website is a bit misleading, the parts finder lists 26531PT but a motor search shows both are compatible. The parts search on the Fel-Pro website lists 26531PT as a 2010-2012 Subaru Outback, but also lists DOHC EJ255 engines. I'm assuming the 26415PT is for SOHC applications and the 26531PT is for DOHC applications.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Available in white only

Clean and flat heads and half blocks. Do good work!

I used these before, no problem! Clean with brake cleaner or acetone. Don't forget original screws! You can reuse SUBARU bolts, but SKIP the stretching part, don't trust the 90ยฐ and 90ยฐ tightening angle, but if you do, make sure you get about 65 ft lbs on all the bolts after the tightening angle nonsense. You'll be glad you did because you'll easily find loose screws!

Pros
  • One year trial period
Cons
  • Compatibility

Sealed twice well

I have used them twice on my engine. It worked fine both times. The engine failed after the initial installation for some other reason. They are probably better than STIs only because they have a thicker coating to deal with small surface imperfections. However, these are still MLS headgaskets that will not withstand anything other than very minor surface imperfections. If they fail after 10,000 miles, it's almost certainly because they were installed incorrectly. Make sure everything is rightโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Something different
