I have used them twice on my engine. It worked fine both times. The engine failed after the initial installation for some other reason. They are probably better than STIs only because they have a thicker coating to deal with small surface imperfections. However, these are still MLS headgaskets that will not withstand anything other than very minor surface imperfections. If they fail after 10,000 miles, it's almost certainly because they were installed incorrectly. Make sure everything is right within specification. Work on the heads. Thoroughly clean the cylinder area. If you can separate the block, it's best to work the body halves.
