Fel Pro OS 34509 Oil Gasket Review

This gasket did NOT fit my engine. The 1980 L48 Corvette engine has a dipstick on the passenger side, but this kit has a dipstick on the driver's side. I hope I can return.

Doesn't even come close to my old 283 with the thin front seal. Pure waste of time and money on my part. Oil was leaking everywhere. I wrote down another part number 1885

The gasket that Revain posted for this article is not 54509. It is actually 54510 which has protrusions on the dipstick tube on either side of the block. 54509 only has one on the driver's side. Blocks of the 70's model came in both directions. I used visual inspection to determine which ones I needed. All tidied up and ready, however wasn't a pleasant surprise when I opened the box and found the wrong part!

Great product but the one I received was defective. Unfortunately I have a week before the return deadline as I could only check if the part works before I was able to start the car. Despite the sealing and drying time, it still leaks due to the breakage. Now you need to buy another one to replace it. It also fits perfectly and looks high quality. I will consider editing the review if the seller either refunds the money or replaces the defective item. Otherwise it's just poor quality control.

I used a gasket kit for a full overhaul on an SBC engine. The kit included a 4-piece oil pan gasket. I do not recommend using a composite oil pan gasket. It leaked in the back row. I bought this pad because it is one piece. This fixed the leak in the rear, but now it's leaking in the front of the timing chain cover. I didn't know it was a THIN FRONT SEAL. I knew I needed a thick front gasket but didn't see that information in the product description. I've already installed it, so I can't return
