Fel Pro VS50493R Valve Cover Set Review

I bought this set from Revain because it was a little cheaper than Advance Auto , and I ordered other parts, otherwise I probably would have ordered locally. (I messed up one of the seals anyway so I had to buy a second set from my local Advance Auto.) This kit worked for my Accord EX 95 4dr 4cyl sedan. Installing spark plug gaskets correctly is a bit tricky and I managed to mess up one of the four during installation. Of course it would be nice if they sold them separately.

The rocker cover gasket kit I received was stiff compared to previous experience with FELPRO gaskets. One of the garments spat when I tried to attach it to the cover screw. The lid gasket doesn't fit the lid snugly and has very little leakage, but maybe that can be solved with some RTV. I had to continue with the installation because the old seals were broken so I couldn't just stop and ask for a replacement. Installed to replace what I believe was a stock Honda gasket that has been overused and happily leaked. This kit comes with a new gasket, new stud bushings and new spark plug wells. The old screw seals must be cut off and the new ones put on the valve cover screws. The first spark plug gasket on my car fell apart when I tried to take it off so I heated the others and the metal around them and pryed them out with a pair of curved needle nose pliers - that helped. Valve Cover Gasket - Quite a difficult and rewarding task. It was harder than it seemed. I will share the problems with you here and hope it will help you avoid the difficult problems that I found the hard way. Bottom line, this is a good product and it has worked well for me.
