Fence and Deck Rite: 4x4 Post Caps - Ideal for Fences and Decks | Black Plastic (4 Pieces) | Specifically Designed for 3.5 x 3.5 Post Review

Before trying to buy them I asked if they would fit a real 4x4, not a 3.5x3.5. I was told that they are suitable for a real 4x4. NOT RIGHT! They require a 3.5x3.5 rack and are absolutely NOT suitable for a true 4x4. Also, I can't use them, they look ok and are about 0.1 inch thick plastic.

They really add an upscale look to your patio post. The plastic on the bottom is a little flimsy so we'll see how long they last. They are the same color as the picture and have a traditional color. They are a traditional size as my bars are about 3.5 and these caps fit the bars well.

I especially liked the design of the cap edge. It goes well with the wicker balustrades we have on our deck and looks a lot better than solid black. We only finished the deck a few weeks ago so I can't guarantee their durability but they seem solid. They are attached to the frame with screws.

AL Although they're made of plastic, we think they look great. They look like cast metal. I placed them on life size 4x4 posts by nailing a 3.5 x 3.5 inch thick piece of scrap metal onto the post. You won't be able to tell that a scrap piece has been used and it's a lot easier than cutting off the top of a post. Some reviews said they break, but they're fine as long as you don't over-tighten the screws. After all, they are made of plastic. Much better than wooden caps which are more expensive…
