Works as advertised

Goods receipt quickly. I lost 2 fence chargers last year due to a thunderstorm. Ever since I installed this device, I haven't had any issues with Lightning. It seems to work. Ease of installation.

The lightning rod we received was in different packaging. It is distributed by TipperTie Fencing Systems. No country of origin is indicated on the packaging.

The arrester is designed incorrectly, the spark gap cannot be adjusted.

The disadvantage of this design is that the black end insulator cannot slide forwards or backwards through the slot in the bottom of the metal like other similar products, which allows the critical air gap to be set to the minimum distance between two metal tongs. As it is the distance is about 1" when it should be much closer, about 1/4" is enough instead to prevent the electric fence charger from jumping over the gap, but no further. I lost my electric fence charger a few days ago due to this

As advertised and works

Gripping Insect Trap

The sensitivity of this item can be adjusted by bending the curved vertical bars. Mine was so close that the stream regularly jumped the gap every now and then, so I backed off a bit. I found that sometimes large beetles were attracted to them and killed in between. Their bodies then got stuck there, causing continuous short circuits that created loud pops that could be heard 75 meters away. I haven't had it long enough to judge its performance in a storm, but it should work as advertised since
