20x20x1 Allergen Pro Filters are made of synthetic electrostatic materials and 40 times more effective than standard fiberglass filters at protecting against microscopic allergens. Low airflow resistance saves on energy costs while still protecting furnace and air conditioning units. Filters last up to 90 days. MERV 10 Rating: MERV (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) measures how much matter passes through an air filter. Filter with a MERV 10 rating will capture particles greater than 1 micrometer, which equates to about 90% of floating air particles. MERV 10 filters are considered to be superior residential filters due to the amount of airborne materials they will capture. Particles in this category include humidifier dust, lead dust, auto emissions, milled flour, pet dander, dust mites, mold spores, smoke, lint and several types of pollen. The American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioner Engineers (ASHRAE) recommend MERV 6 or higher. For residents with allergies and sensitive respiratory systems, a MERV 9-11 filter is recommended. These filters are ideal for home and business use. Not for older AC devices. You have to pull hard to get through.

So I have a brand new air conditioner and thought it could handle the increased filtration capacity. I do not think so! Shortly after I installed this filter we had an issue with our block, after we removed it it worked perfectly. Is there such a thing as a too thick filter? It's definitely quality and I bought a train block for our lower floor where I put it. It worked for a couple of weeks but I could hear it and it seemed to me that the check valve was working a little. I'll try again, but…

MERV 10 Electrostatic Filters Help Keep Air Clean

MERV 10 HVAC Filter Wow Allergen Pro ESP Pleated Oven Filters are made in the USA from synthetic ESD materials. The four-pack of filters are individually bagged, keeping each one clean and ready for a new installation. These four 20 x 20 x 1 packs fit very well in our home as we have a zoned HVAC system with upstairs and downstairs systems each using two filters. We switched to this higher MERV rating a few years ago when I discovered the impact on air quality, especially during allergy season.
