Featuring high performing electrostatic technology, Filtrete Healthy Living filters proactively attract and capture microscopic particles, including: smoke, cough and sneeze debris, bacteria and viruses along with large particles like lint, dust and pollen from air passing through the filter. Designed with Filtrete Brand 3-in-1 technology from 3M to pull in and trap unwanted air particles while letting clean air flow through. 3 times better at small particle capture compared to non-electrostatic pleated filters for the capture of 0.3 to 1.0 micron particles. Outperforms fiberglass, washable and non-electrostatic pleated 1" filters. Carries a 1500 Microparticle Performance Rating (MPR) that equates to Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value MERV 12.

If you look at the filter you will see that the pleats are easily 2-3 times tighter than a normal filter and that's it.

We have been using these 3M AC filters for many years. Purple (they are all color coded). They seem expensive but we only change them 4 times a year and it's an investment in protecting your air conditioner. Several times during our seasonal service, HVAC specialists have commented that we have to use "those 3M filters" because they have nothing to clean. I've heard one negative comment that they restrict airflow too much, but I disagree, if you look at the filter you'll see that the pleats are

Filtrete: The Only Filter We Will Ever Buy For Our Home

Our Filtrete Healthy Living Allergen Reduction Filter Review, MPR 1500, 20 x 30 x 1", 6 Pack. We live in a dusty area due to new construction/development in all directions. We boarded one of the units fairly early and noticed quite a bit of dust in our house on a daily basis. The filters we used just couldn't do it. It also made the allergy worse. So we went shopping and found these filters. They worked great. Because they worked so well, they were a popular item that flew off the shelvesโ€ฆ

Highly recommended for those with allergies and/or pets

BACKGROUND: For the past few years I have used 3M Filtrete Allergen Reduction Microfilters, 1000 MPR, 20" x 30" x 1", 6-Pack (9822DC -6) which worked great I came across the 3M Filtrete Ultra Allergen, which is priced below their normally cheaper counterparts and picked up a 6 pack to see if the difference between the two models was enough to justify the price difference.
