Good filters but be careful when measuring and do not believe that the lifespan is one year

I have been using these filters for several years now. These are very good filters, but there are two things to consider when purchasing: 1) The nominal sizes are smaller than the real ones. It may seem strange, but almost all furnace filters are measured this way. So whether you're buying from 3M or another company, you need to measure and test first. It's like wood dimensions. 2) Lifespan is no more than a year, and probably only if you live in a climate that doesn't put heavy use on the HVAC

MERV 12, incorrect dimensions

This review is for 2 packs of 20x20x4. Perfect replacement for my air conditioner. Previous owners of our home had Filtrete Micro Allergen Defense installed (https://www.amazon.com/Filtrete-Allergen-Guaranteed-Captures-Particles/dp/B00L3SJLEO). Slim fit. What are these jeans?

The Revain site where I purchased these four packs was confusing as to the actual size. I came across this site while looking for a 16x25x4 file. I checked the photos and the measurements were listed as 15 7/8 x 24 9/16 x 4 5/16. Perfect size so I made the purchase. I had no idea what "slim fit" was, but the sizing was good. As it turns out, the "lean figure" is 15 1/2 x 24 1/2 x 3 3/4. Looking straight at the Revain page I still don't see the actual "slim fit" measurements in the description…

I ended up calling support

About 2 months after installation my oven stopped working. It worked for a few minutes and then shut off. The mechanic came out, saw the filter and said that was probably the reason. He explained that 3M gives people "maximum filtration," but the filter causes airflow to be too restrictive and the temperature sensor in the oven to overheat, causing the oven to shut down. Everything else was fine and has been working fine since the replacement, so that seems to be the reason. He also mentioned…
