Description of πŸ“¦ Optimum 4240 Silicon Carbide Sanding Finish

320 grit sheets are best for wet sanding and feathering paint, or use dry to smooth and shape body fillers. Made with a premium grain, which offers a higher cut rate and uniform scratch pattern which makes it perfect for achieving fine finishes. When sanding wood, 320 grit sheets are best for scuff sanding between clear coats and sealers. Use dry during the preparation phase of a project, usually when removing existing finishes, rust and oxidation; it is also key when sanding and shaping body fillers and primer coats. Sheets can be cut-to-fit 1/2 sheet, 1/3 sheet, or 1⁄4 sheet sanders.

Smooth as glass!

High quality sanding sheets. Use to finish the Live Edge coffee table. The perfect preparation for a glass-smooth finish.

Pros
  • 320 grit sheets are best for wet sanding and color mixing, or use dry putties for smoothing and body shaping.
Cons
  • There are doubts.

Good hard abrasive paper, ideal for finishing metal. I use it to finish handmade knives. It is well suited for wet grinding of steel. Silicon carbide is ideal for metal.

Pros
  • Manufactured with premium grit for faster cutting speed and consistent scratch pattern, ideal for finishing
Cons
  • Unsafe

Works great wet or dry

I've tried many different types of sandpaper for my knife blades, but I keep coming back to sandpaper for its wet adhesion and long-lasting sharpness,

Pros
  • Use dry during project preparation, typically to remove existing finishes, rust and oxidation; this is also important when sanding and shaping putties and primers
Cons
  • Requires rosette
