Nomex itself is a good product that withstands high temperatures and blocks smoke exit from the working chamber. However, the "LavaLock" adhesive used on the back of the Nomex strips is a terrible product. The glue was so non-tacky that it easily fell off my finger like it was never there. It has a very flimsy grip and I wouldn't trust it to last a few days let alone the years it is expected to last. It's worse than almost any other glue I can think of.
