Fragile plastic, too dangerous in sea or ocean. Unfortunately I couldn't send it back. But later I bought another one from the UK made from plastic that lasts forever and never leaks.

Yes and no. It didn't match the surface we applied it to as expected. It has a rigid construction. So it's really a flat surface where the surface has softer plastic. It is not clear if this item is safe to use on water tanks. Hopefully since it is installed above our drinking water tank.?

My original hatch on my boat had an O-ring which leaked after many years. Finding the same replacement o-ring is almost impossible. After much research I settled on this one without the o-ring and it doesn't leak. The screw holes match exactly like my original. Happy with the product. It also looks great.

Works great! And the screw holes match the finger holes of the covers. A real boon for OCD friends wondering if there will be a queue, the good news is there will be. Seems very solid, especially compared to the one he replaced which would break if walked on. This went on all weekend with people getting in and out of the boat plus wakeboards hitting and sitting on it. I'll definitely be buying another one when the time comes.
