Men's Five Ten Kestrel Pro Boa Cycling Shoes Review

One of the boots is worn, the closure system is broken. I can't use shoes! I really don't know what the Wild Sherpa was up to here.

I love the BOA closure on this shoe. Fits comfortably, size 44 is perfect for my height 10ft US. The platform is very stiff, you can't feel the pedal underfoot. It appears to be a quality shoe and is very protective, although not as light as some of the other options. Slightly smoother than other 5.10 skate shoes.

I've always loved adidas shoes. This is not a disappointment. I didn't expect them to be as heavy as they are. That was my first experience with clips. But their stiffness makes it feel like your whole foot is the pedal. I still enjoy riding on the flat in some situations, but I spend most of the day in it. Cozy. Fits great. BOA goes with every shoe! As long as you don't hike a lot by bike they are suitable for the whole day.

They are great and still work well after 3000 miles on my MTB and Gravel bikes. I love the roomy sockliner, it reminds me of the Altra Zero Drop's foot-shaped design. They're a little heavier, but they're worth it for the extra comfort and off-bike "walk" ability. I also love the BOA lacing system. very easy to put on and off and tightens well. at least for my size 9.5 the foot is a bit wide. I use Shimano and Crank Bro clips which I will definitely buy again but they wear exceptionally well.

I was really excited about this shoe as I wanted to try the Boa system and there are excellent reviews. After receiving them I found them heavy compared to my trusty 20 year old Sidi Dominators and the Boa drew the drawstring over my thinly padded ankle and was slightly uncomfortable. After 4-5 rides with them, the boa constrictor system failed. I contacted Adidas and they replied that they broke more than 30 days after receipt so I have to eat $200 for the (now useless) shoes. I originally ordered these shoes in size 10.5, which is my normal size. But they were half a size smaller. I requested a refund and then ordered a half size up which should be delivered in a couple of days. To my surprise there was a knock on my door the next day, I ordered a change of shoes and there was a change of shoes. The company sent replacement shoes overnight at its own expense.
