Yes, it's better than nothing and I think the price is worth it. But. it could be softer. Maybe buy two and stick them together? I do not know.

I combined this with Cinelli Gel Tape which is a very thin gel tape with a light pad. The tape provides minimal cushioning from drops, with most of my rides on tops using a gel/tape combo. The only solution I could find that gave decent padding without the ridiculously thick padding.

I installed it under the new handlebar tape kit as instructed. My handlebars are twice as soft as before and I can feel the difference in the vibrations of the road being transferred to my hands/wrists. I placed this gel just under the tape on the left side of the handlebar to test and compare to the regular tape and now I'm ready to move on to the right side.

This material is thick and well padded, which is confusing when riding and the handlebars still feel stiff with gloves on. As if there was no depreciation at all. Of course this is not the case - there are many of them. My point is that if your hands are uncomfortable or numb and you think this might be the solution - well, maybe. Or maybe not.

This is my 2nd Fizik gel bar set. I was fed up with the clear gel they have but it just wasn't soft or cushioning enough for me. I don't like wearing gloves when riding so I bought this blue gel for my first bike. I like it enough to get a 2nd set for my 2nd bike. Great gel, helps with cushioning, increases bar width if that's what you're looking for. I also had no problem attaching the steering wheel with the gel.

I have a Trek Madone 5.2 and broke my wrist a few years ago, the steering wheel is causing me some discomfort now on my broken wrist. With a good pair of padded cycling gloves and those gel strips under the padded handlebar pads, I no longer experience wrist fatigue/pain. Without gel and with "medium" bandages on the steering wheel, my wrist hurt a lot.
