First impressions Best seats and saddles

I've been riding Arions for a few years and generally like them. This is my first wide/open/carbon seat. I particularly like the extra width, which wraps around the sit bones better and puts less pressure on soft tissues. The open section helps with this. Many of my local roads are bumpy. I think the carbon rails knocked out some of the vibration. I drove 2 hours today and felt good. The symptoms usually subside after about 3 hours; I'll see how this seat actually performs on my next long ride.

Not as comfortable as my 3D VERSUS EVO R3 ADAPTIVE on my canyon, but close!

I wanted a saddle for my Giant Revolt 0 that mimics my new ANTARES VERSUS EVO R3 ADAPTIVE 3D saddle for my Canyon Ultimate without spending $300. I took it on a 20-mile gravel ride and never had to pedal to get the blood flowing. It's a little more curved than the 3D saddle, but in a good way. I posted a photo of my Fizik 3D Versus EVO R3 so you can compare their shapes and the shapes are almost identical, the OP Aliante is a bit longer and a bit wider.

Pros
  • Solid build

  • So far so good

Very smooth ride, but don't forget the carbon paste!

Others notice clicks, squeaks and other noises coming from the seat. DON'T FORGET THE SUPERGRIP CARBON PASTE! The carbon slips in a metal or carbon vise, you can tighten it but you risk breaking the carbon. The carbon paste ensures that you don't have to over-tighten to get a firm grip. I switched from a Prologo saddle and while I got sore after most long rides, I never felt like my saddle was lacking in quality. When I saw this saddle I realized that it is much better than my previous saddle…

Openness is not for me.

I tried the Fizik Open Performance Bike saddle on the advice of some friends who thought I might be uncomfortable with my current Fitzik Annatares R4 closed saddle. I found it to be the complete opposite and returned the open saddle and returned to my Annatares R4 with no opening. I am 60 years old and have found that the area between my legs hurts a lot more after a long open top ride than in the closed R4 Annatares. Ultimately, I think it's all about the width of the saddle and its placement.

Great saddle on saddle

I would highly recommend this saddle if you are definitely a chameleon by Fizik's flex standards. I'm definitely a physics snake, but I weigh 150 pounds and drive 15-20+ mph. Judging by the speed and weight chart, the wider Antares platform with 142 seats suited me better. However, my considerable flexibility hindered my performance when using this particular saddle. I sent it back and opted for the Arione Open Large which better suits my flexibility and level of performance. Remember that the…

This is a proper road bike saddle and will not suit everyone.

I bought this saddle to prepare myself for finally being able to get my hands on a road bike to upgrade my 2016 Trek Hybrid which I still love so much. Of course, apart from the comfort of the saddle that comes with it, I love the model I'm looking at. So I decided to give it a try, especially when I bought it for a "used like new" price and if I don't like it I can always return it. feel it. Guys, that's a road bike saddle. Although padded, it is by no means a plush saddle. This accessory is…
