Bad choice Don't buy

I've had the chair for 7 months now. The simple assembly was typical for an office chair. Seat fabric is very rough and abrasive. Touching bare skin quickly becomes uncomfortable. It's rough enough to feel through skinny pants and will irritate my skin after a few hours. I immediately had problems with coccyx pain. I tried to find a pad for it but couldn't find one that was close to the width of the seat. I've learned to live with it and get out of my chair at shorter intervals. In the last 2…

Very happy with this chair

Overall I like this chair. The seat is wide enough and soft enough for my thick back and weight. I thought the mesh back would create a comfort issue, but that's not the case. I like my work chair to recline when I recline, but it was initially so narrow I thought the description was wrong. One of the two issues I have is that when the adjustment knob is fully relaxed, it's still too tight for my comfort when I recline. Another issue is that it only comes with standard wheels (no…

Not rated £500 Furniture

I ordered this chair in November 2017. The gas bottle failed after about 2 months. But since I'm a big guy, I'm used to it. I can live with sitting a little shorter, but the part that made this chair a 1 star was that the base (where the wheels attach) is hollow. This is very thin steel that is pressed into a tube and welded to a frame with very thin supports inside. After about a year of continuous use (working in an office, about 10 hours a day) the supports in the tubes broke, twisting the…

Comfortable but annoying

Okay, let's start with the "how-to" for assembling the chair. There were no written instructions, just a page of pictures. OK, I can handle it. I liked how the screws and key were packaged. What I didn't like (and cost this chair a star) is that the wheels don't fit into the base. I can't get them and I'm not sure how this is supposed to work. I ended up taping them together to install the chair, hoping that my weight would cause the wheels to "slip" eventually. I don't have high hopes. If…

Regret - I have a lot

I had such high hopes for this chair. My first clue that something was going to go wrong was when a random little screw fell out of the chair and I couldn't find where to screw it back in. Assembled the chair very well only to find that the adjustment for the back of the chair (to raise the mesh up and down as needed for lumbar support) did not work. I suspect that this is where the little screw escaped. Then the tilting mechanism didn't work at all. I called customer service and they offered…

Beautiful, wide and durable chair.

Okay, I received my chair today and put it together pretty easily. All parts were well packaged, even an Allen key was included. I assembled it alone in about an hour with short breaks. As soon as I unpacked it, I knew I had a good chair. I used to have a leather-tufted "Executive" office chair that I loved and found heavy. This chair died a slow death when the lifting mechanism first stopped working, then the skin began to wear out, and finally the wheels came loose. It was an old chair that I

Office chair rated #500 - Good, bad and ugly

Let's start with 3 points: 1. I have not received any compensation for this review. I will never accept payment for writing a review. 2. I usually weigh between 390 and 410. Hence the nickname 16 tons. If you weigh less, look for a 400# rated chair or a 300# rated chair. This chair will be quite uncomfortable.3. I am a mechanical engineer by trade with over 30 years of design experience. I regularly create designs of all kinds and evaluate them critically. Let's start with the good: the chair…
